Reimbursement paid out in 2 days

You buy insurance hoping you'll never use it, but still you are not sure if you'll get paid out if you do use it. Fortunately, I made the right decision in Genki! I received the full amount of my claim (minus the deductible) within 48h, and the payment link was incredibly easy to use, money was in my bank account in seconds. The only feedback is to support other currency payouts (not just EUR) as your customer base is global!

Exceptional support for global health

Traveling and working remotely can be stressful, but Genki makes health insurance effortless. Their assistance hotline is incredibly reliable, and I was amazed at how quickly they handled my medical needs abroad. It’s more than insurance—it’s a true health partner that I can trust anywhere in the world.

Great experience

Had to see a doctor in Thailand for a small infection. Customer support responded within hours explaining what would be needed and how to claim, went to doctor, submitted the claim, approved all within 48hours. Best experience with a insurance provider I have had.

I feel secure being covered by Genki

I have been super happy with Genki Traveller. I've made 2 claims, one of which involved a minor surgery and several appointments for tests etc. In both cases they reimbursed me in full, claims were processed within 2 weeks with no back and forth needed. I feel secure being covered by Genki. It's a good deal as well.

Unfortunately I had to use the insurance bc I got viral infection while in Albania and I was super worried about everything and Genki was awesome! It was everything very smooth, they are super fast when I needed help I super recommend!

This is the best health insurance…

This is the best health insurance company I’ve come across. I was very unlucky on my holiday and ended up in hospital. I initially had to pay upfront at this hospital, but Genki reimbursed me already after a week. Can totally recommend it :)

I had the worst experience with Genki.

...As a traveler, you expect and need your money back as soon as possible, especially when you spend a lot of money on medicals. Once you make your claim, they say 5 weeks to process your claim and another 5 weeks to make a payment....

Instead of dealing with the hassle of an international bank transfer, we also give you the option to receive smaller reimbursements as Genki Credit (applied automatically toward future Genki invoices).

Hidden bank fees were subtracted from reimbursements

Sending money worldwide is complicated and unfortunately there's no single payment system that works across every bank and every country.

Some Genki members were surprised and disappointed to find that bank fees had been subtracted from their reimbursements.

In reality...

In reality, you’ll only end up getting about 50% of the money sent to you. They use SWIFT transfers, and half the amount gets eaten up along the way. Their excuse? 'Intermediary bank fees.' But why is that my problem? I pay my insurance premiums every month so that when a claim happens, I get paid 100% of what I’m owed—not half of it because of their banking setup. Absolutely terrible service. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend to anyone.

Misleading information!!!

I started to choose an insurance at Genki for the period 26-08-25 until 27-09-25. This is the period we are on Holiday. 26-09-25 we are back in home country...
