Genki Traveler is travel health insurance, just like Genki Explorer.
This kind of insurance covers necessary treatment of unexpected health issues for a limited period of time. It works well in addition to long-term health insurance or public healthcare in your home country, not as a replacement for it.
One year of coverage again and again
Genki Traveler covers you for up to one year. You can cancel anytime after the first month.
After your one‑year coverage ends, you can sign up again immediately. Any medical conditions from the previous year will be considered Prior Health Conditions and will no longer be covered.
We strongly advise against using any travel health insurance as your primary and only healthcare coverage due to its limited duration. If you are looking for long‑term worldwide healthcare, consider Genki Native. We designed it for that.
€1,000,000 total cost limit
A total limit of €1,000,000 is sufficient for nearly all unexpected illnesses or injuries during travel.
Costs usually only approach this limit in cases of long‑term illness or extended treatments, which travel health insurance is not intended to cover. In that case, you would return to your home country for long‑term treatment.
If you prefer more extensive healthcare coverage, consider Genki Native, our long‑term worldwide health insurance.
Not suitable for maternity care
Are you planning or growing a family? That is wonderful, and we want you and your baby to stay healthy!
Travel health insurance, like Genki Traveler, is not intended as primary coverage for maternity care or childbirth. It does not cover maternity care.
However, we understand unexpected situations can occur while traveling during pregnancy. We do cover treatment for serious pregnancy complications to support your and your baby’s health, but childbirth remains excluded.
If you are looking for maternity cover, we recommend Genki Native, which fully covers you here.
Not suitable for mental health care
Your mental health matters, especially when traveling long‑term, and we care about your well‑being.
Travel health insurance, like Genki Traveler, is not intended as primary coverage for mental health care and does not include related treatments.
If mental health support is important to you, we strongly recommend reliable local healthcare or long‑term worldwide insurance like Genki Native, which fully covers you here.
Not suitable for dental health care
Dental health is important, and we want you to receive appropriate care whenever needed.
Travel health insurance, like Genki Traveler, is not intended as primary dental coverage does not include dental care. We recommend healthcare providers in your home country or affordable local options abroad.
We do cover dental treatment only if required due to an accident, up to €1,000 per insurance case.
If you prefer broader dental coverage, consider our long‑term worldwide health insurance Genki Native.

Balance
Healthcare costs are rising, especially in popular nomad destinations like Bali, Mexico, and Thailand.
We have carefully balanced benefits and costs in Genki Traveler, so we can continue offering you excellent coverage at an affordable price.
Clear choice for trips to Canada and USA
We have simplified our coverage for Canada and the USA to make sure you only pay for what you need.
You now receive 7 days of emergency‑only coverage per stay, which is ideal for short visits or transits.
If you need full coverage, you can add it anytime at a higher rate, starting the next day, and easily remove it again after just one month.
Approval is required for costs of €1,000+, doctor house calls, and second opinions
Prior approval helps us manage healthcare costs, ensures you receive high‑quality treatment, and prevents doctors or hospitals from overcharging or performing unnecessary treatments. This reduces inconvenience and keeps prices affordable for everyone.
In medical emergencies, contacting our 24/7 emergency assistance speeds up approval. For inpatient hospital stays, emergency assistance coordinates payments directly with the hospital, so you do not need prior approval.
As always, in life‑threatening situations, first call local emergency responders (911, 112, etc.). Your health and safety always come first!
